| Introduction to Interior Design |
INTRODUCTION TO INTERIOR DESIGN ( not offered this term )  
We have two summer school sessions planned. One in the second week of January and one in the second week of February.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be tutored by international designer Leonie Mae Tucker and Johan van Westen from InStudio.
Leonie Mae Tucker and I have worked together for more than 5 years at Unitec and on a number of local design projects.
Her portfolio is impressive and includes the Hilton Mauritius Resort and Spa, Sankara Boutique Hotel Mauritius,
Hyatt Carlton Tower Knightsbridge, Park lane Hilton London, Hilton hotel Paris. And many more, including private residences.

The interior design course will cover:
· Influences in design and decorating.
· Plan and design rooms in your own home.
· The principles and elements of design.
· Theory of colour and choosing the perfect colours for your Interior Design scheme.
· Different wall coverings.
· Selecting Furniture, Fabrics and Lighting.
· Making a mood board to demonstrate your concept.
· Analysing the strengths and weaknesses within a space.
We cater for all levels of competency
The course is non assessed and caters for anyone with an interest in transforming their living spaces.
The course will be lively, stimulating and with lots of real world examples and experiences from the lecturers.
Expect some hands-on work.
One day will be spent visiting local supply- and design stores.
After completing this course you will leave with plans for a newly designed room and a much better understanding of interior spaces.
We intend to facilitate this course at the Lopdell House seminar room and studio.
Lopdell house has excellent parking and is right in the heart of lovely Titirangi village with its shops and cafes.
These are full day courses and run for a whole week.
Coffee and tea is provided.
Monday to Friday 9.30 am - 4 pm.
